First Visit Guide
Starting at a new gym can feel intimidating, especially if you’re brand new, returning to training, or looking for the right program for your child. This page is built to make the first step simple with a guided program finder, clear next steps, and answers to the questions most people have before walking in.

Before Your First Visit
Do I or my child need experience to start?
No. You do not need any previous training, sports background, or experience before your first class. We work with kids, teens, adults, beginners, returning students, and experienced athletes. Our goal is to help every person start at the right level, learn safely, and build confidence one step at a time.
What should we bring to the first class?
Bring comfortable athletic clothes, water, and anything you already use for training if you have it. You do not need to show up with everything figured out. If a class requires specific gear or a certain uniform, our team can help you understand what is needed before you get started.
What should I or my child wear?
Wear clothes that are comfortable to move in, like a t-shirt or athletic shirt with shorts or workout pants. Try to avoid clothing with zippers, sharp pieces, or anything that could get caught during training. If you are trying a class with Gi or No-Gi options, our team can help point you in the right direction.
Where do we go when we walk in?
When you arrive, check in at the front desk or talk to a coach or staff member. Let them know it is your first time and they will help you get settled. You do not need to know the schedule, class structure, or where to stand before you walk in. We will point you in the right direction.
Will I or my child have to spar or compete?
No. Sparring and competition are always a choice. Many people train for fitness, confidence, discipline, self-defense, focus, or community without ever competing. Beginners and younger students are guided step by step, and our coaches help each person progress at a pace that makes sense for their comfort level and goals.
Can parents watch their child’s class?
Absolutely. We have a spacious viewing area where parents can comfortably watch class, see how their child is doing, and get a feel for the coaching environment. If it is your child’s first time, our team can help you understand where to go, what class fits best, and what to expect before they step on the mats.
What if walking into a new gym feels intimidating?
That is completely normal. A lot of people feel nervous before their first visit, whether they are brand new, returning after time away, bringing their child in, or coming from another gym. You are not expected to know everything on day one. Come in, ask questions, be respectful, and we will help you find the right starting point.
